The Journey of an AI Student: From Confusion to Success

If you are a Student from any university or any high school, then this blog is for you. Welcome friends, I am Karan Chrish from India. I will tell you about the life cycle of the AI Student. After my schooling, I was confused to choose the department for higher studying. When I was in School I took the lowest mark in Tenth Grade, but by the gods' grace, I got into a maths-Biology Group For Higher studies. But I don't know why I chose this Group, the days went, the years went and the lockdown came. By the lockdown, my exam was canceled and I scored an overall decent mark in Twelfth Grade. After School, I got more holidays than I have ever seen before because of the lockdown. During Holidays I Watched more than 200 - 400 Hollywood movies and I became a movie addict. While watching the movies I came to know about AI(Artificial Intelligence). And during the lockdown, I was inspired by Elon Musk. The legend of AI, So I decided to choose the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Department. I Joined as a First Year Student at Karpagam College of Engineering, Coimbatore in 2021 and my life is going on smoothly.

This is just to introduce myself. I Will say the importance of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and what the future is looking for. Below I have Separated it into Four categories for your understanding.

What is AI & DS

AI & DS is the short form of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. From the name itself, we can Identify there are two paths of life: AI and DS. AI deals with the modern technology that makes machines perform tasks like Humans like making decisions, understanding situations, etc… This is all done by learning from experience. One example is Chatbot, Mostly Product based companies use a chatbot to communicate with their customer, Best example is OpenAI, Which saves time and energy. Another example is Self-driving Cars. We all know about Tesla. It is the best example of Self Driving cars. AI is becoming most important in today's world. We use AI in every field without our Knowledge like in Healthcare, Farming, and also to Entertain us. DS deals with mathematics. Yes, Data science is fully dependent on Statistical Learning. It uses past data to predict the Future and give a better solution for the next plans. One of the examples is to analyze the record of the supermarket and sell the product according to the past Buyers, It gives more Profit to the superstore than before. Another example is predicting the level of disease that will spread in a patient's body, it is very useful in healthcare. By this, we can suggest a medicine according to that. DS is also used to represent the Visual effects to understand deeply. Uneducated people also can understand very clearly.

The Life of an AI Student

This is not the whole life of an AI student, This is just an understanding of my knowledge as a one year and a half year complete student in the AI department. As an AI student, your first year is filled with continuous learning and generating new ideas. You will get the Fundamentals of your professional life. You have to spend more time studying Mathematical Concepts like Linear algebra, Probability, etc… You will very early to know about what Deep Learning is, How we can create Robots, etc… But the main mistake we make is, we will try to study to get good grades, but we don't understand the concept. In the Second year, you will face many complex coding. It's not complex, we make ourselves think like that. We have to finish many Projects in Machine Learning, we have to Study more tools for visualization, attend many conferences and workshops, and know about all the new trends. You make things very difficult but it is very adventurous because it's an upgrowing technology, you can research in this field, and make more contributions to this technology. It is the challenging one as we see in movies but we can overcome all the challenges because we will find many relationships there to solve our problems. Again I repeat this is not the Life of an AI student. This is just the first step of life as an AI Student.

Projects and Opportunities

College life is mostly filled with exciting projects and Opportunities that will help us to gain more and more knowledge and skills to solve problems and Experiences. Some will take these projects seriously and present their projects at conferences and Publish them in research papers. Because my friends Presented their projects at many conferences and competitions and some are working to publish their projects as Research Papers because in this department we can discover many things. Others finish their projects for their studies not to gain more knowledge. But Doing a project gives a student more chances to develop their extra knowledge and Critical Thinking, mainly it avoids the fear of communicating with strangers. There are also some more opportunities to show our skills in Clubs, Sports, Volunteer work, and in Internships. This allows us to meet new people, and gain some practical experience. After the Second year, you will get more opportunities to grow up, Don't miss them, pick them up and climb up to see your Success.

Future of Al

The Future of the world is Fully dependent on AI. Because whatever we see depends on AI. If AI continues to evolve in this world we can see more improvements in many fields like healthcare, education, the Economy of the country, etc… The Best development in AI is Deep learning, it uses neural networks. The best example of this is Neuralink Brain Chip. Deep Learning will very fastly analyzes the data and produces the Situation based output. Weather forecasts and self-driving cars are real-time examples. It can do and think whatever humans think and it can also do and think whatever humans don't think. My suggestion is I Am not compelling you to study AI, but at least know what AI is.
